Clear Plastic Retainer

Unlike something like Invisalign which tries to change the positions of your teeth, these are retainers, meant to keep your teeth as they are. You only need to create 1 tray, and there are many sites that will mail you a kit so you can do it from home. It can be a little tricky to get it right, so if you have the option, visiting a dentist and asking for it is less error-prone.

✅ Helped a lot

I went to a dentist while in Seoul, Korea, and explained that I wanted a retainer to help me with nailbiting. It was the first time he heard of someone using it like that, but he agreed to do it. I got a 1mm retainer made to match my existing teeth shape. That's the thinnest I could get, and it's inconspicuous and really effective. You can not bite your nails when they're in. You can wear it anywhere, any time. It does not effect your speaking, and the only time you have to take it out is to eat. You do have to clean them often to prevent them getting stinky, and it's not good for your mouth to keep them in 24/7. Also can be a bit pricey, but very worth it, the guard lasts a long time.
