Growing one finger at a time

Choose one finger to leave alone, and bite the rest. Once that finger is good, "graduate" it and choose another one. Don't go back and bite the ones that you've graduated. Eventually, they'll all be graduated.

❌ Did not help

I see this strategy suggested everywhere, and I'm convinced it's coming from people who don't bite their nails, but think they are clever coming up with this. It doesn't work at all. Nailbiting is an unconscious activity, so I'm not able to keep track and micromanage which nail I'm biting at all times.
